Family Worship Series

Posted by Pastor Chuck in Pastor's Blog

Dear Faith Family,

I left this past Sunday's worship feeling like something special had taken place. In conversations with others over the past couple of days, it appears that feeling was shared by many. While that will not become our standard format for observing the Lord's Supper as a church family, I'd like to think that we might consider reserving that for use two or three times a year. If you weren't able to be here and would like to see what I'm talking about, you can watch the video here (unlike our regular weekly worships which include the sermon only, we recorded the entire worship service this past Sunday due to the special nature of the service):

Beginning this Sunday (May 9), and continuing through Father's Day (June 20), our worship will focus on the theme "Building Godly Families". As I mentioned before, we'll be using the term "family" to refer both to the familiar nuclear family as well as to the family of faith found in the local church. So whether your household is made up of one or ten (or anywhere in between), I believe that God's Word will have a message for you each week during our family emphasis. This Sunday for Mother's Day, we'll be looking at 2 Timothy 1:1-12 and our message will be titled "Building a Heritage of Faith." I sincerely hope that you will be able to join us for worship on Sunday.

It's been quite a while since we held our last "Faith 101" class for folks interested in learning more about membership at Faith. While this class is required for membership, participating in it does not obligate one to become a member. It serves to introduce recent guests to Faith and to the process of membership and the workings of our church. If you've been considering membership in our church, or are merely interested in learning more about who we are and how we function, please give Christa, our church secretary, a call (703-430-1345 on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays from 9am-2pm) or drop her an email (Email Link) and let her know of your interest. Most likely we'll try and schedule a date in mid-to-late June... but we'll arrange that so it's convenient for everyone's schedule.

Hope to see YOU Sunday!

May God bless you this week.
